JOB TYPE: Full-time; Probationary/Tenure-Track

• The candidate must be willing to teach core courses in the generalist social work BSW program. These on-campus, online, and hybrid courses may include but are not limited to Human Behavior and the Social Environment, Generalist Practice (individual, group, and community), Chemical Dependency, Family Dynamics, and Social Welfare Policy.
• The candidate will be expected to be an active member of the social work faculty team with student academic advising and Club activities, contributing to Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) reaccreditation activities, curriculum design, and involvement in various community collaborative ventures.
• Also, faculty member should anticipate involvement in activities that support Bemidji State University’s signature themes of: environmental stewardship, civic engagement, and global/multicultural understanding
• Experience teaching with electronic course management delivery software such as Desire to Learn (D2L)/Brightspace is required.

• MSW from a CSWE Accredited Program
• Minimum of two years post-secondary practice experience
• Minimum of two years post-secondary teaching experience
• Licensure by the Minnesota Board of Social Work is required
• The candidate should possess good interpersonal skills, leadership ability, experience teaching with an interest in research, an understanding of generalist social work practice, and a commitment to collaborative, collegial work.
• Experience teaching with electronic course management delivery software such as Desire to Learn (D2L)/Brightspace or willingness to quickly learn for fall course delivery
• Commitment to quality teaching
• The applicant should demonstrate a knowledge of and experience with diverse cultures and populations, particularly Native American

• PhD or DSW or ABD in Social Work or a related field. PhD completion required for promotion and tenure.
• Additional weight will be given for experience with diverse populations

• All applicants must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States at the time of an offer of employment.
• Persons writing letters of references should be advised of Minnesota's open record law which can make such letters available to applicants upon request.
• Official transcript(s) must be provided to Human Resources upon hire.
• Employment for this position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement for the InterFaculty organization (IFO) which can be found at ntract/contract-settlement-15-17/
• In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, faculty and staff driving on college/university business, who use a rental or state vehicle, shall be required to complete a vehicle Use Agreement form and conform to MnSCU's vehicle use criteria and consent to a motor vehicle records check.

Bemidji State University Social Work Program:
The Social Work Program is an accredited program with approximately 200 students in the major. The Social Work Program also offers a Chemical Dependency Minor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Certification (LADC) with approximately 75 students seeking the minor and/or the LADC.

There are two tracks or options for students to complete their Social Work Degree: A traditional on-campus track and an online track (SWIM). The SWIM track, a cohort based model, is completed predominantly online with four on-campus course meetings each semester. The Social Work Program mission is to: Prepare students for the generalist social work practice, social and economic justice, professional values and ethics, critical thinking, and global interconnectedness. Special emphasis is placed on working with diverse groups of people, particularly Native American.
