Do you like kids? Want to make a difference but don’t have the time? Little Earth of United Tribes’ Mentoring Program is currently recruiting volunteer mentors. A mentor is a positive adult role model who provides support and guidance all the while encouraging education and culture. Mentors are expected to meet with their mentees for only ONE HOUR a week. Mentoring is a great way to give back to the community, become more involved and more importantly make a difference in the life of a child.

Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring individuals who offer guidance, support, and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of the mentees. All mentoring takes place at the Little Earth Youth Development Center Boys & Girls Club Extension during its after school hours Monday through Friday. During the one hour session matches can enjoy books, computer games, board games, arts and crafts and even a kitchen to bake in. There are also monthly field trips all the mentor-mentee matches can participate in; in the past matches have gone bowling, rock climbing, to museums and plays. Becoming a mentor is a super fun and easy way to get involved and make a difference, especially for those with busy schedules.
