Thaddaeus Edwin Tohannie

October 6, 1968 – March 22, 2008

Thaddaeus passed into the spirit world one year ago. He is survived by his parents, Scott and Diane Tohannie; brothers, Scott Jr. and Welsy; sisters, Vanessa, Merlinda, Antionette, and Mary Elizabeth; children, Angela Morrow, and Scotty R. Morrow; and 2 grandchildren. He lived in Minneapolis for 28 years before returning home. His funeral took place on March 29, 2008, and he is buried at the Round Cedar Cemetery in Leupp, AZ.

Anna W. Rock (Omaayawibiikwe)

May 19, 1918 – February 5, 2009

Anna, of Waubun, died at 90 years of age on Feb. 5, 2009 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D. Anna White was born to Dan G. and Mary (Dunn) White on May 19, 1918 in Cass Lake, Minn. She was raised in the Leech Lake area. She married Reuben Rock on Dec. 31, 1934. They made their home in White Earth, where Reuben was the priest at Breck Memorial Episcopal Church in Ponsford. Anna was employed by the White Earth Band of Chippewa as a community health worker for many years. Anna enjoyed jingle dress dancing, attending powwows and dancing whenever she could. She was a member of the Ojibwe singers. Anna will be remembered and missed by her five children; Samuel, John, Mary Rose, Stella and Anna; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. Preceding Anna in death were her parents; husband Reuben; two sons, Reuben and Melvin; grandchildren Jennifer Rock and Robert M. Rock; great grandsons Joshua Hooker and Travis Lloyd Rock; as well as three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held Feb. 9 at the Old Pine Point School.

Lavern F. “Buckshot” Neadeau

April 10, 1938 – February 13, 2009

Lavern, 70, of Red Lake, MN, died Feb. 13, 2009 at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji. Buckshot was born April 10, 1938 at Red Lake, to Henry Neadeau and Edith Kelly Neadeau. He married Ethelbert St. Clair in 1963. He worked as a commercial fisherman, contractor, furniture mover, and at the Red Lake Fishery for many years. Buckshot is survived by Special friend Donna Howard; son Gerry Neadeau; daughters Shari, Marilyn, Maureen “Marie”, Edith “Sue”, , Terri Lynn, Sherry, Diane; brothers Terrence, Claude, Elwyn, and Stewart; sisters Mary, Judith, Irma, and Bonnie; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents; brothers Melvin, Pete, Gordon, Joseph, Adrian, Konrad, and Alvin; sisters Loretta, and Henrietta. A wake was held February 16, at the Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake. Funeral Services were held February 18 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Red Lake. Interment is at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake.
