Winnie Lindstrom, a Waubun High School senior in Ogema, has been awarded the Gates Millennium Scholarship. The scholarship, which strives to increase representation of minority students in the fields of engineering, science, mathematics and health, was started by Bill and Linda Gates in 1999. It provides support for students in undergraduate through doctoral programs to attend any university in the United States.
