MINNEAPOLIS — The Native American Community Clinic (NACC) will open its new health campus to patients Tuesday, September 15th, marking a major expansion of culturally grounded health care and community services for Native families in the Twin Cities.
Located along the American Indian Cultural Corridor in south Minneapolis, the new clinic is part of an integrated health and housing development designed to bring health care, affordable housing and community resources together in one location.
The development includes a new 30,000-square-foot health center and 83 units of affordable housing in the Wihinaphe Apartments. The project reflects a broader approach to wellness that recognizes the connections between health, housing, and community stability.
Founded in 2003, NACC provides medical, dental, behavioral health, and other services to the Twin Cities Native community. Its mission focuses on promoting the health and wellness of mind, body, and spirit of Native American families while honoring culture and tradition.
NACC is adjusting its clinic schedule as staff prepares to move into the new facility. The current clinic will operate regular hours on Tuesday, September 8th, and will be open for a morning session on Wednesday, September 9th, before closing that afternoon. Telehealth services will be available during portions of the transition, with the new building officially opening Tuesday, September 15th.
Community members will also have an opportunity to explore the new space during NACC’s Fall Harvest Health Fair and Open House on Friday, October 2nd, from 2 to 5 p.m.
The event will be NACC’s first in the new building and will combine its annual health fair with an open house. Activities will include facility tours and information about NACC’s clinical services. Maria’s Café will provide a meal, Dream of Wild Health will provide produce, and attendees will also have an opportunity to help plant traditional plant medicines around the clinic.
